Rows of women line up to sell their apples in Odessa. Most apples sold in small villages are homegrown, often small and mealy. Some vendors at Privoz receive shipments from Turkey and other neighboring countries and are able to sell citrus fruits, pears, and peaches later into the season. Just like in other areas, prices for imported fruit and vegetables are much higher than those grown locally.
